I have existed from all eternity and, behold, I am here; and I shall exist till the end of time, for my being has no end.
I soared into limitless space and took wing in the imaginal world, approaching the circle of exalted light; and here I am now, mired in matter.
I listened to the teachings of Confucius, imbibed the wisdom of Brahma, and sat beside Buddha beneath the tree of insight. And now I am here, wrestling with ignorance and unbelief. I was on Sinai when Yahweh shed His effulgence on Moses; at the River Jordan, I witnessed the miracles of the Nazarene; and in Medina, I heard the words of the Messenger to the Arabs. And here I am now, a captive of confusion. I beheld the might of Babylon, the glory of Egypt, and the grandeur of Greece, and I still see the weakness, degradation, and pettiness in all those works. I sat with the sorcerers of Endor, the seers of Assyria, and the prophets of Palestine; and I persist in singing the truth. I memorized the wisdom revealed to India, the heartfelt odes wrought by the inhabitants of the Arabian peninsula, and the music that embodies the sentiments of the Western people: yet still I am blind and do not see, deaf and do not hear. I endured the brutality of grasping conquerors, suffered oppression at the hands of tyrannical rulers, and was enslaved by despots: yet a power remains whereby I struggle against the days.
I saw and heard all that while still a child, and shall see and hear the exploits of youth and their consequences; then I shall grow old, and archieve perfection, and return unto God.
I existed from all eternity and, behold, I am here; and I shall exist till the end of time, for my being has no end.
-Kahlil Gibran-
1883-1931
With every moment of truth, there is confusion in life. The closer you get to the meaning, the sooner you realize you are dreaming, and it goes on and on and on and on and on!!!
Do your demons
Do they ever let you go?
When you try, do they hide deep inside?
Is it someone that you know?
You’re just a picture
You’re an image caught in time
We’re a lie
You and I, we’re words without a rhyme
-Ronnie James Dio-
1942-2010
Children Of the Grave
Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today
Will the sun rise up tomorrow bringing peace in any way?
Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear?
Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear?
So you children of the world listen to what I say
If you want a better place to live in spread the word today
Show the world that love is still alive, you must be brave
Or you children of today are children of the grave.
-Ozzy Osbourne-
1948-2025 – I love you, Ozzy, my entire life, I thought you were the coolest! The world will suck just a bit more without you. Rest in Peace, brother. I will look you up when my time comes.
Artemis II - 2024
This sculpture is my interpretation of the Greek goddess Artemis, one of the Twelve Olympians and Apollo’s twin sister. In Greek mythology, she’s often depicted as a stunning, athletic figure and a ruler of all things wild and untamed. She took an exceptionally long time to complete. I wanted to capture all her beautiful curves while keeping the piece tasteful.
Artemis I was initially created in the middle of 2020, at the very start of my metal sculpting journey. Two years later, I realized she was nowhere near finished. So I went back to work and transformed her into Artemis II.
This piece holds deep personal meaning for me. Whoever owns it in the future, if anyone ever does, will own a significant part of who I am.
Stargazer-2023
This was the most labor-intensive project I’ve done to date. It was the first and last thing I thought about every single day until it was finished. I remember questioning whether I was being too compulsive, and I wasn’t sure if that was healthy behavior.
I tease myself by never mounting my pieces onto the stand until I know I’m truly finished. I sort of create a “Garage Grand Premiere” for myself. I remember mounting this piece on the new stand for the first time, and I was hit with that “Fuckin’ A” feeling: You’ve done it. You’ve taken metalwork to the next level. Man, what an awe-inspiring feeling that was. I felt like my life wasn’t going to be some common, garden-variety existence; I had created something truly unique, and I made my little splash!
He was always going to be a Stargazer from the very beginning, representing a relic from a civilization long gone. A civilization that had shed its primal, tribal instincts and moved on to the next realm. This civilization once gazed into the cosmos with awe. As they began to comprehend the overwhelming vastness of it all, something ignited within them: a new awareness, a rebirth. In time, they came to understand that they were not separate from the universe; they were the universe, seeking to know itself.
Princess of the Dawn-2022
“Princess of the Dawn” is a titel of a heavy metal song by the German band Accept, released in 1982. I still consider it one of the genre-defining tracks. While creating this piece, I rediscovered this song after 20 plus years was reminded of some of the imagery from the video, I thought the track was just awesome, simple, powerful heavy metal anthom. By today’s production standards, the video is low-budget, but it still carries a distinct vintage charm.
If you follow the lyrics, the Princess is a beautiful yet deadly figure; You get the feeling that if you confront her, you’re bound to lose.
“On the day of the testament
The seventh moon was raging fire
Heaven cried for the sacrifice
The midnight sun was rising higher
Lies in her royal crypt
Her kiss is bitter sweet
Death upon her lips.
Beg for mercy – hail the queen
Princess of the Dawn”
Make sure you crank-up the base and let it rip!!!! Hell Yeah!!!
The original title for this piece was going to be Vestal Virgin 1, as I had planned to explore this form in a series of six sculptures, Vestal Virgins 1 through 6. But somewhere along the way, I changed my mind. However, I have recently considered exploring it again.
Desert Dweller - 2024
Imagine you’re on a deep psychedelic mushroom trip and suddenly find yourself in the middle of the Gobi Desert. A dark storm looms on the horizon, and a cold wind begins to rise. A massive dust devil forms, and within the swirling mist, a silhouette takes shape, spinning in sync with the vortex. He emerges from the desert sand. Somehow, this feels deeply familiar… and then it hits you: IT IS You!!!
In that instant, two words flood your mind, the only words that matter:
“I am!!!” You scream out as your being ignites with consciousness.
Arwa Sentinel - 2024
(Arwa – Arabic feminine name , it means “gracefulness and beauty”)
As her form was taking shape, tired of relentless details that needed to be fixed, I imagined her as a sentinel guarding an entrance to a new world. She is the gatekeeper; only the truth can be spoken in her presence. She guards the innocent and judges the despots, the tyrannical rulers, and all those who enable them. She worships neither gods nor men.
She was present at the rise of Sumer, Ur and Uruk. She is the protector of the innocent, as well as the judge and executioner of those who prey upon the weak.
Rise of mercury-2023 - SOLD
This sculpture was inspired by a Hubble Space Telescope image of the planet Mercury as it orbits close to the Sun. I remember being deeply moved by the image of this iron sphere crossing the Sun’s ravaging, vast, boiling surface. Solar winds pounded the planet with relentless plasma flares, deeply scarring the surface and stripping away any atmosphere it may have once had.
Yet Mercury endures for countless eons past and those still to come. It reminded me that when compared to the incomprehensible scale of the galactic time, my lifetime is nothing more than a still image caught in time.
Arwa Nebula-2022
(Arwa- an Arabic feminine name meaning: gracefulness and beauty)
This sculpture represents a galactic nebula. When viewing this sculpture, imagine gazing at a vast, dense cloud of hydrogen deep in space. Imagine she spans light years across space and time. She’s giving birth to new stars and planets, with the hope that, at some point, the conditions will be right for life, and maybe even consciousness, to emerge. She is the universe seeking to know itself.
Sargon Of Akkad-2022
While creating this sculpture, I read and watched documentaries about the early civilizations of Mesopotamia. I was fascinated by the first settlements along the Euphrates and Tigris rivers, such as Ur and Uruk, which marked the true beginnings of modern human civilization. Some of these cities were built two thousand years before the first Egyptian pyramids.
Eventually, I came across the city of Akkad and its first ruler, Sargon of Akkad, also known as Sargon the Great, who, according to legend, had only one eye. I remember daydreaming, imagining this sculpture as an incarnation of Sargon, emerging from his dimension into ours. This piece always gave me the impression that he is forcing his way into our dimension, not asking for permission to enter; he appears to me as a force to be reckoned with, declaring, “I am here, and I will have your attention.”
He has by far been my most recognized sculpture. In the few times I’ve displayed this piece, some people were stunned by his presence and loved it, while others were downright intimidated—ha-ha. The day he finds a new home will be a sad one for me. He’s the centerpiece of my living room, and he is straight-up bad to the bone!
Fallacy of Perceived Solidness-2020
This was one of my early experimental pieces, and I’ve got a real soft spot for it. I made it in early 2020 during the COVID lockdown. I remember how good it felt: everything shut down, no work, no pressure, just me messing around in the shop, finally doing what I love without the nagging feeling that I should be doing something else. This piece single-handedly was the turning point. I realized my journey couldn’t end here, and I felt a sense of urgency. I recall thinking, Don’t go to your grave knowing that you could do this, but you didn’t have the courage. My mind flooded with new ideas and possibilities.
Photos don’t really capture it. When you see it from above, a spiral appears, unexpected, kind of hypnotic. The spheres wrap all the way from the base to the top, twisting around the sculpture like it’s moving, even though it’s completely still.
The thing looks and is insanely solid and heavy. But that’s the lie. Like all matter, it’s just energy pretending to be solid. We are convinced that what we perceive through our limited senses is real, but is it?
Fundamental physics tells us we’re never in direct contact with the outside world. Ronnie James Dio put it beautifully in Holy Diver: With every moment of truth, there is confusion in life. The closer you get to the meaning, the sooner you realize you are dreaming. The truth is not far off. Light hits the retina, turns into an electric signal, shoots back to the brain, and boom, a 3D image appears in our head, nowhere else. That’s what we call reality. It’s mind-blowing when you stop and think about it.
